Professional Electricians in Ft. Thomas, KY

Northern Kentucky is home to a wide range of cities and towns. Because Northern Kentucky is so close to Cincinnati but also just as close to more rural areas, these cities are very unique. Ft. Thomas is no exception. Featuring locally owned businesses and restaurants, a small-town vibe with a big city influence, and numerous activities, Ft. Thomas is a unique and welcoming area. Let Rose Brothers & Sons Inc., of Walton, Kentucky, show you some of the highlights of Ft. Thomas, Kentucky.

The Basics

Fort Thomas sits on the southern bank of the Ohio River. This city was the site of a large battle that occurred between two opposing native American tribes before European settlement. Over 600 graves have been found by archeologists in the area, and it is not uncommon to come across ancient Native American artifacts from time to time. In the late 1800’s the area was used as a new post for the US Army. The 11 acres that compose the city, originally called the Highlands because it did not flood, was later named Fort Thomas in honor of General George Henry Thomas. Because Ft. Thomas sits so close to Cincinnati and Newport, there is never a lack of things to do. A very short drive separates the inhabitants of Ft. Thomas from the adventure of a big city.

Ft. Thomas, zip code 41075, has a population of around 16,500 people. The city has a total area of around 6.4 square miles, 5.7 of those square miles are land. The population density is around 2,910 people per square mile. The median income for a family in this area is $63,000.

Ft. Thomas is an independent school district with 3 elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. Highlands High School is known state-wide for their historic football prowess, and as the only public school in Kentucky that has a Cum Laude Society chapter.

Ft. Thomas has two business districts. The first business district is located in downtown Ft. Thomas. This area is centered around the Fort Thomas Avenue and Highland Avenue intersection in the middle of the city. Here you will find many locally owned stores, restaurants, and banks. The secondary business area, Midway, is near the old army post and is growing quickly.
